St David's Day

First of March is St David's Day, it is a traditional festival in Wales. in this day, every person who lives in Wales will adorn a daffodil or send daffodils to their friends. According to my discovery, I find that St David's Day has a long history.
St David's Welsh name is Dewi Sant, he was the archbishop of Wales, he lived in 6th century. He was one of the earliest saints who helped to spread Christianity to the western Britain. Because Welsh people thought that Dewi took much care of Welsh people, he was respected as patron saint of Wales.

Further more, in old days, Sassenach aggress Wales, St David taught Welsh people to put a leek on hat to the effect that Welsh people could know who was compatriot and who was enemy. Nowadays, daffodil and leek are signs of Wales, but leek may not as nice as well, so people adorn daffodil instead leek in St David's Day.

From all of these, we see that St David is a famous person in Wales, and Welsh people pay much attention to this day.
